Silver Linings Playbook is based off the novel by Matthew Quick and stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. Pat (Cooper) loses his house, his job, and his wife and has to move back in with his parents (De Niro). After an eight month stint in a state institution he is working on rebuilding his life. He meets Tiffany (Lawrence), a complicated girl with her own problems. They make a deal to help each other out and along the way form a bond. Predictable? Yes, but with movies like this they can still be salvaged if the journey along the way is a good one. It almost seems like another Garden State, but with less obstacles and definitely crazier people. The pairing of Cooper and Lawrence at a glance is somewhat odd, but being two of today’s biggest breakout stars, I’m sure they will make it convincing (just look at the trailer!). The film also stars Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles and Chris Tucker. Out in theaters on November 21, 2012.
