TV SHOW TRAILER: Vinyl

 Wow! The new HBO show, Vinyl looks intense. Produced by Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger and created by screenwriter, Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street, Boardwalk Empire), this show is guaranteed to be crazy.

The series is set in the 1970’s New York music scene with a record label president, played by Bobby Cannavale, trying to save his company. Also starring in the series is Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano and Mick Jagger’s son, James Jagger, who plays a rocker.

Vinyl is set to premiere on Sunday, February 14, 2016. Check out the trailer above!

A Capella Group, Pentatonix, Star In New Lucky Charms Commercial Airing During The 56th Annual Grammy Awards

The uber amazing vocal group, Pentatonix is starting the new year right! They sold out their 30-date North American Tour and are now teaming up with Lucky Charms for the cereal brand’s 50th Anniversary.

PTX arranged and recorded a new version of the Lucky Charms song and each member will be shown in animated form in the commercial. How awesome is that?!? The ad will premiere during the 56th Annual Grammy Awards telecast this Sunday, January 26^th on CBS. But why wait, when you can watch it above? 🙂

MUSIC VIDEO: The Wanted – “I Found You” [@thewantedmusic]

After a long wait the music video for “I Found You” from The Wanted has been released. There’s three main observations on this for me. First, I love the song. I have been listening to it non-stop since it was first leaked on YouTube and can’t get enough of it. Second, and the most obvious is all the guys are looking real good. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to let you in on that one. Lastly, they are total bad asses in this video. I almost wish the fight scene could have lasted longer. If anyone said they could take on this boyband, they might want to think about that again.

I won’t ruin the whole “surprise” of the video, you can see that for yourself, but I did enjoy the twist with the female lead character. That was a nice little tease from Nathan. It was creative although I wouldn’t have expected this idea for this particular song, but I can’t complain. I would, however, like to know what happened to the footage filmed in LA that was supposed to be for this video. A completely different idea that must have gotten scrapped last minute, but it doesn’t hurt to throw it up as an unofficial video (hint, hint, guys).  But for now, take a look at the official video above and be sure to buy the single on iTunes on November 4th.

[Edit: So, apparently the LA footage will be used for something else “just as big” according to Siva who told fans during a Twitcam session an hour before the video was released.]

Pop-rock band, Hot Chelle Rae just premiered their music video for their single, “Honestly” on VEVO. It features Ashley Benson from the ABC Family hit show, “Pretty Little Liars.” I also may have had a hand in decorating that awesome kitchen you see. 😉 Watch it above.

Katy Perry Premieres “Part of Me” on Grammys

For those of you that opted out of watching the 54th Grammy Awards last night, Katy Perry premiered her new single “Part of Me”. The track is taken from “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection” which comes out on March 26^th. Listen to “Part of Me” above and if you just have to have it you can download it now on iTunes.

MTV to Premiere YELLOWCARD’s “Hang You Up” Video on Tuesday, April 5th

MTV has announced that they will premiere the new video for YELLOWCARD‘s single “Hang You Up” on all of their channels. “This is amazing news,” said the band in a statement. “The video will be premiering on Tuesday April 5th exclusively on all the MTV Networks – MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits, and MTV.com! You can help us out by tweeting and posting on Facebook so everyone can see it!” The video was directed by Chris Marrs Pilliero who recently won a VMA Award for directing The Black Keys’ “Tighten Up” and also directed new videos for The Ready Set, Ke$ha and Yellowcard’s previous video “For You, And Your Denial.”

MUSIC VIDEO: Lady Gaga – “Born This Way”

Watch the world premiere of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” video above! The clip was directed by Nick Knight, along with Lady Gaga, the Haus of Gaga creative team and choreographer Laurieann Gibson.

The pop star confirmed last week that she will unleash another “Born This Way” video as well. The second version, she says, “is a more stripped-down version of the song that will be released on iTunes and also released as an audio file. A portion of the money raised selling the song is actually going to go towards an anti-bully charity.”

“Born This Way” is avaible now for free with a pre-order of the Born This Way album from Target.com, and you can also snag the single on iTunes. 

MOVIE REVIEW: Due Date

I went to the premiere of Due Date at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on October 28th. I had seen some promotional material for the film, but not enough to expect what was coming.

The movie starts off with Peter Highman (Robert Downey, Jr.) who is on his way back to L.A. to see his wife (Michelle Monaghan) give birth to their child via C-section. However, a run-in with Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis), an aspiring actor, at the airport turns his journey into a nearly impossible one. Peter manages to get put on a no fly list, is left without his wallet and with no ID or money is stuck at the mercy of Ethan. Ethan is more than overjoyed to have Peter join him on his way to Hollywood as he is going through a rough time after his father passed. In fact, Ethan not only has his bulldog with him, but also his dad’s ashes in a coffee tin. Yes, anything ridiculous that could happen to them does. Jamie Foxx plays Darryl, Peter’s best friend and Juliette Lewis plays a “Pharmacist” and I use that term loosely if you know what I mean. Keep your eyes peeled for appearances by Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer as their Two and a Half Men characters, RZA (from Wu-Tang Clan) as an airport screener as well as a special something for all you Seinfeld fans.

With Downey, Jr. and Galifianakis teaming up together you know you can do no wrong in the laugh department. You will get the “I can’t believe that just happened” laughs, great one-liners, “WTF is he doing!??” and of course some totally gross out moments. Some thought it was better than The Hangover, but while I thought Due Date was entertaining enough it did not, in my opinion, surpass the hilarity of The Hangover. Foxx is severely underused. I wonder why even have him in the film for such a small and insignificant part. Though Lewis had a small role as well, she shined in it.

Due Date is a perfect movie to see if you are looking to watch a comedy, but it is certainly not for the kids. It will also probably be even funnier if you have a few drinks beforehand, but this is not completely necessary.

Afterwards, I ran into Ken Jeong (Asian guy from The Hangover) who was taking pictures with fans before rushing off. While waiting outside, I turned to find Zach Galifianakis walking towards where I was standing and after asking he was nice enough to sign my ticket. I later found myself face to face with Robert Downey, Jr. and let’s just say my nice experience did not cross over with him.
