Sir Paul McCartney released the music video for his single, “Appreciate“. This is my favorite track off of his album, NEW. In the video, Newman, the robot is wandering The Museum of Man and stops in front of Paul’s exhibit and Paul begins to play. Newman reacts to the music and Paul then takes him into the world of the song bringing alive all of the other exhibits.
Paul has always had a fun-loving, goofy side to him and this video showcases that. As far as the advertising, I’m not sure how this is going to be helping Microsoft, but at least the video is really cool looking. Speaking about Newman, Paul said:
“I woke up one morning with an image in my head of me standing with a large robot. I thought it might be something that could be used for the cover of my album NEW but instead the idea turned out to be for my music video for ‘Appreciate’. Together with the people who had done the puppetry for the worldwide hit ‘War Horse’ we developed the robot who became Newman.”
So I loved the acoustic performance that U2 did of Oscar nominated song, “Ordinary Love” on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and after the performance at The Oscars, I am now obsessed. Although this isn’t the acoustic version the original is just as amazing.
The song was made for the biographical film, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and was released last year, but clearly hasn’t gotten all the praise it deserves. Awesome message and such a heartfelt tune. They released an official lyric video for the song back in November and then followed up with this video which is a combo of a music video and a lyric video. Have a look above.
Taking Back Sunday has put out an awesome new single, “Flicker, Fade” and they released the video for it a few days ago. We’re loving it. We saw these guys in their early years and they just seem to be getting better and better. They’re dropping a new album on March 18th called Happiness Is through Hopeless Records. The band will also be co-headlining a North American tour with The Used. Get your tickets now and pre-order the album. Tour dates below:
Meg Myers continues to impress me with every song she releases. She’s getting them featured on TV shows, but it’s not enough. Everyone needs to know about her–like now. The good news is that she is now signed to Atlantic Records, but clearly I need to continue my promoting duties if my neighbors haven’t been blasting her music.
She released the music video for her new track, “Desire” (produced by Doctor Rosen Rosen), last week. Filled with her signature blend of angst and an abundance of passion, Meg delivers again. She is incredibly talented, it’s crazy. But not as crazy as the music video. Watch the awesomeness above.
If you like what you hear then you’ll want to check out her EP, Make A Shadow, which comes out on February 11, 2014. You can pre-order it over here.
Yesterday, Justin Bieber released a music video for his new song, “Confident” featuring Chance The Rapper. Amidst all his legal troubles, Biebs is trudging through and working on what he does best–making the tweens swoon.
The song, as you can imagine, talks about him being into a girl who is confident. The video inserts dialogue between him and a chick whose number he wants. Not that you could call the worst pick up line ever as dialogue, but just go with it. At the end she agrees to give him her number, but the only exchange we see is a kiss. Because let’s be real, he probably doesn’t have to do much to pick up a girl.
I can’t say I’m a big fan of Chance The Rapper, in fact, I’d probably like the song a whole lot better without him. There’s also a few choreographed dance sequences in the video, but nothing over the top. See for yourself above.
Young The Giant
Jimmy Kimmel Live Outdoor Mini Concert

Young The Giant has become one of the most hyped about indie rock bands. Their name is popping up everywhere and with good reason. I knew and liked a couple of their songs and was really looking forward to their Jimmy Kimmel Live performance.
Leader singer, Sameer Gadhia has a very unique smooth voice and I was pleasantly surprised that it still comes across that way during their live shows. I think I have been to too many pop concerts, so when I actually hear live vocals and they are amazing I’m blown away. In reality, it should be the norm, but in any case you get the real deal with Young The Giant. Continue Reading

American Authors will be releasing their highly anticipated debut album, Oh, What A Life on March 4, 2014 on Island Records. Mark those calendars! Their first single, “Best Day Of My Life” has been certified gold. You can view the video for it here.
One of my fav boy bands, The Wanted, released a statement to their fans today stating that they are taking a break after their upcoming Word of Mouth Tour. Things were getting suspicious when most of the band members began other ventures (modeling, solo single, clothing company, etc) late last year, but the band evaded rumors until now. After releasing the statement, they took to their individual twitters to say that this is not the end. Only time will tell on that front.
In the meantime, they will soon be releasing the video for their newest single, “Glow in the Dark“, an electro-dance track that was, in my opinion, one of the best songs on Word of Mouth. Sigh. Good and bad news all in one. These guys put on an insane live show, so be sure to catch this last tour while you can.
Timeflies released the lyric video for their latest single, “All The Way” today. The track is a pure Timeflies pop-dance track. The video features a skateboarder skating non-stop down a neighborhood street. Love these guys. Check out the video above!
