Brooklyn stars Saoirse Ronan in a 1950’s romantic drama set in both Ireland and New York. Ronan plays Ellis Lacey, an Irish immigrant, who has to choose between two guys she has fallen in love with and who happen to be in two different countries. Sounds complicated. Due out November 6, 2015. Watch the trailer above!
At first the trailer for The Intern seems like a continuation of The Devil Wears Prada, but it’s not. Anne Hathawayplays Jules Ostin, who founded and runs an online fashion website. Robert De Niro plays a 70-year-old widower, Ben Whittaker, who becomes a senior intern at the fashion site. Hilarious, right? While it looks like it will have its funny moments, this is totally a feel good movie. It also stars Adam Devine, Nat Wolff and Anders Holm. In theaters September 25, 2015.
Is there a character that Meryl Streep can’t play convincingly? Doesn’t look like it. She stars in Ricki and the Flash where she plays a rockstar who gave up everything to follow her dream. She returns home to try to make things right with her family–all of her children now being adults–and things are not going so well.
Her real life daugher, Mamie Gummer, plays her on-screen daughter in this comedy written by Diablo Cody. Director, Jonathan Demme said Streep studied guitar for months before six weeks of band rehearsal ahead of shooting. The playing, the singing and the stage presence was all her doing. This is Meryl Streep, I wouldn’t expect anything less. The film also stars Kevin Kline and Rick Springfield. In theaters August 7, 2015. Can’t wait!
Rob Zombie is coming out with a new film and he’s using crowdfunding to fund it. He’s calling all horror fans to help make his new film “31” at RZ-31.com. He’s offering exclusive merchandise, collectibles from past movies, original artwork and access to both the “31” movie set and his concerts. Why did he decide to do this? Zombie says:
I’m crowd funding because I realize that it’s an incredible opportunity to engage the fans. They’ve always been the most important thing for me because, with metal and horror, the fans aren’t just fans – it’s their life, their lifestyle. They live and breathe it, as I do, and any way that you can bring the people that are as passionate about it as you are into the process is a win-win for everybody.
Being a major James Franco fan, I always try to keep up with his new releases. The latest, Good People also stars Kate Hudson. Naturally I thought this was going to be a rom-com knowing Hudson’s M.O. Surprisingly though, it is more of a suspense thriller.
Franco and Hudson play a couple who are in debt, but things start looking up when a tenant in their complex is murdered and they discover some major cash in his apartment. However, everything turns for the worse when they find themselves the target of someone who is trying to recover the stolen money. Doesn’t sound too original, but I have hope that Franco and Hudson can make it entertaining. Check it out for yourself above!
After fans contributed over 3 million dollars to his project, Zach Braff was finally able to make his follow up to Garden State. Wish I Was Here stars Kate Hudson, Joey King, Ashley Greene, Jim Parson and Zach himself. Garden State was a hit and Wish I Was Here is shaping up to be the same. Totally stoked for this release! Take a look at the trailer above and mark your calendars for July 25, 2014.
