Brika, is an up and coming talent from Miami and her track, “Expectations” will have you hooked. She has almost 700,000 plays of the track on her SoundCloud page and 1.2 million plays between all four of her singles. Not bad for someone who began their career in 2013 according to her Facebook page.
Her other songs, “Gold”, “Option” and “Mumbai” each have a unique sound and her soothing voice blends well with each style. I definitely can’t wait to hear an album. Check out the music video for “Expectations” above and visit her SoundCloud page for more music.
Introducing singer-songwriter, Scarlett Rabe, a classically trained pianist with soulful vocals. Not only did she put on an amazing set, but she is also awesome to talk to. Scarlett talks to us in a bathroom (apparently it’s a thing) about who she goes to for advice, her dream collaborations, and her new single, “Battle Cry“. If you haven’t heard the incredible track, check it out below:
Oh man, am I loving Scarlett Rabe‘s single, “Battle Cry“. It’s intense, with a head bopping melody and incredibly catchy lyrics. I’m always happy when I find a song that I can play repeatedly without getting tired of it and “Battle Cry” is definitely one of them. The piano is awesome and so I’m not surprised to find out that she’s classically trained and has been deemed a “classical piano prodigy”. Scarlett may be a newcomer, but with soul like her’s, I think we’ll be hearing a lot from her. Personally, I can’t wait for more. Have a listen to “Battle Cry” above.
Jaymes Young is a name I’m sure everyone will be saying soon enough. This guy is talented. The moment I heard him sing in, “Dark Star” my eyes popped out, for real. Love the smoothness to his voice and the song itself is well done. Those lyrics? Damn. I can already see all the places this song will end up. Have a listen to it above and if you want more then check out his song, “Moondust”, another stellar track below.
If you like what you hear you can head on over to his official website and download your favorite tracks.
We got the chance to chat with our newest favorite band, Six60. The New Zealand band are a big deal back in their home country and soon enough that will happen for them here in the states. Six60 geniusly mixes rock, dubstep, soul and reggae into their music and the outcome is glorious.
Enjoy the interview with these down to earth guys and be sure to check out some of their tracks (“Forever“, “Run For It“, and “Don’t Forget Your Roots” are favorites of ours!). If you’re already a fan, props to you for being ahead of the game. Watch the guys talk about who they would kidnap for a day, what they wouldn’t do for any amount of money and more in the interview above!
The Voice Season 3 contestant DE’BORAH recently released her debut single, “Coming Out Looking Good” on iTunes. DE’BORAH signed with Chicago-based label WuLi Records who are also known for releasing the early catalog of American Idol Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze.
“WuLi Records is beyond happy to have DE’BORAH join the WuLi Records roster,” states WuLi Records representative Ryan T. McGuire. “We are eagerly excited to work with such a talented young artist and are looking forward to a positive future together.”
She describes her style of music as eclectic with a vast range of genres including rock, soul and pop mixed with her own unique style. If you saw her on The Voice, you know what that’s all about!
Take a listen to what she came up with post-The Voice with her debut single, “Coming Out Looking Good” here.
We got to chat with new UK artist, Jake Bugg. He released his self-titled album on Mercury Records and it has since gone #1 on the UK charts. He has toured with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Snow Patrol. His music can be described as indie rock mixed with folk. Check out his fifth single, “Two Fingers” which is out now. Next up, Jake will release his record here in the states. Keep your ears out for it.
Meg Myers dropped another music video earlier this month, but I felt posting it closer to Halloween was more appropriate. You’ll see when you watch it. The track is called “Curbstomp” (American History X, anyone?) and the video is a bit edgy, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from her. The song itself is fierce in that ‘in-your-face-I’m-uber-talented’ way. Tell me again why no one has “discovered” her yet?! Yeah, there’s no good reason. Take a look above at the video, but only if you can handle blood and….stuffed animals.
Introducing Zander Bleck with the music video for his debut single “Temptation“. “Temptation” was written by Zander and Holly Knight (Heart, Tina Turner and Pat Benatar) and was the song that got the attention of producer RedOne (Lady Gaga, Usher). “Temptation” is the first single off MONUMENT, which will be released later this year on Interscope Records. You might have caught him on stage opening up for the likes of David Cook and The Wanted. Zander definitely has a sound like The Bravery and The Killers, so if you’re into them (which you should be) then check out the video above.
