Charli XCX is bringing hit after hit! After working with Icona Pop and Iggy Azalea she released the addicting track, “Boom Clap” and now she has dropped a new video for her latest single, “Break the Rules”. The video features cameos from Rose McGowan and Chloe Chaidez (Kitten). Her sophomore album, “Sucker” is out on October 21st via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records.
I was inspired by movies like” Jawbreaker” and “Carrie” for the “Break the Rules” video. I never went to prom when I was at school so this was kind of me living out my weird fantasy of what prom would be like in my head. I asked Rose McGowan to be in the video and I never ever thought she would say yes, but she did… so she came to prom too… And she trashed it 😉 – Charli XCX
Losers & Kings, the new album from The Downtown Fiction is officially out! You can also stream the entire album via YouTube above.
“The release of Losers & Kings feels like the culmination of so many moments all leading up to this day. From the beginning, we were inspired to create something honest and human. The sound of a band in a room. We tried to remain instinctual and idealistic, even childlike. It’s a record about acceptance of yourself and others, depression, escape and those minor triumphs that keep us fighting, uniting us. We pushed ourselves and I’ve never been more proud of anything we’ve accomplished. Thank you to all those who’ve supported us these years. I hope you enjoy listening to Losers & Kings as much as we enjoyed making it.” – Cameron Leahy, Lead Vocals
Losers & Kings Track List:
1. Some Place On Earth
2. Hope I Die On A Saturday Night
3. Don’t Count Me Out
4. Kiss My Friends
5. Santa Cruz
6. No Generation
7. Cool Kids
8. So-Called Life
9. Big Mistakes
10. Right Where We Left Off

The guys recorded the album in LA the past year and it features some amazing producers including: Max Martin (Yay!), Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder (Yay, again!), Shellback and Sam Martin. Long-time keyboardist Jesse Carmichael is also back after having taken a hiatus while the band recorded 2012’s Overexposed.

If you have not heard “Come With Me Now” by the super cool band, Kongos then you are missing out on some extremely awesome new music. Sometimes you just know when a band has the potential to be the next hit band and sirens went off for me with these guys. They are four brothers who are from South Africa, but also grew up in London and now live in Arizona. They bring an eclectic sound to alternative music that has been missing (who doesn’t love an accordion?!).
They released their debut album, Lunatic in 2012 in other parts of the world, but it wasn’t until this year when they began receiving major recognition and re-released Lunatic through Epic Records. The album is available through iTunes and they, along with Young the Giant, will be joining Kings of Leon on their upcoming tour.
Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl, the duo behind The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (The GOASTT), released their new album today. Midnight Sun contains 12-tracks and is available on iTunes now via Chimera Music. The entire project screams creativity from the music to the artwork. They have an experimental rock vibe going on and I dig it. Download it from iTunes or get the vinyl from their official website.
Roman Remains released a video for their track, “Gazebo“. The band is comprised of Liela Moss and Toby Butler from The Duke Spirit. The song is off of their new full-length album, Zeal, which is available now on Dhani Harrison’s H.O.T. Records Ltd. They just completed a month-long residency at LA’s Sayers Club and they were awesome!!! Keep your eyes (and ears) on this duo, it’s likely we’ll be seeing a lot of them.
