MUSIC VIDEO: Mona – “Goons (Baby I Need It All)”

The entire concept of this song and the song itself is amazing. “Goons (Baby I Need It All)” by Mona takes on the well-known quote from Frank Sinatra in which he said, “Rock n’ Roll smells phony and false.  It is sung, played, and written for the most part by cretinous goons.” Gotta love Frank, but he had no idea what the hell he was talking about. Mona gives us a rock and roll anthem with this track and it is incredibly catchy. We need more songs like this out right now. Listen to the track above and see if it doesn’t get your head bouncing!

Jake Bugg’s Self-Titled US Debut Album to be Released April 9th [@JakeBugg]

British singer-songwriter, Jake Bugg will be releasing his highly anticipated self-titled US debut album on April 9th on Mercury Records. After its release, Jake will be all over US television with appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman on April 10th, The Ellen Show on April 12th and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 22nd. Jake will also be at this year’s SXSW and Coachella and then opening for Band of Horses in April. Not too shabby for an 18-year-old newcomer.

At this point it’s highly unlikely that you haven’t heard of The Wanted. The British-Irish boy band released their hit single, “Glad You Came” to overwhelming success in the US. They have since followed up with their next single, “Chasing The Sun” which they announced will be featured in the upcoming Ice Age 4: Continental Drift movie. The band is building momentum and this EP is only going to further their fan base.

Mercury Records group Parachute glides into the new year with a brand new single, “Something To Believe In,” from their upcoming second album, THE WAY IT WAS (due for April release), and a fresh round of U.S. tour dates with Plain White T’s and Miggs on the Wonders Of The Younger tour.

HE WAY IT WAS is also expected to include a number of songs that Parachute has introduced at recent shows, among them “Break My Heart For Me,” “Halfway,” “Square One,” “The Way It Was,” “What I Know,” and “White Dress.”  Another track, “Kiss Me Slowly,” was written with Grammy winners Lady Antebellum.  THE WAY IT WAS was produced by John Fields, whose credits include Switchfoot, the Goo Goo Dolls, P!nk, and Paper Tongues.
