FUN. Thanks Fans With Free Live EP

Grammy winners, FUN. just released a new AND free live EP, “Before Shane Went to Bangkok: FUN. LIVE in the USA” via their official website. It was recorded during the band’s 2013 ‘Most Nights’ Summer Tour. The EP contains 6-tracks including “Some Nights,” “Carry On,” “Out On The Town”,  “What the F****”, “Barlights,” and “The Gambler.” There is also a 10” vinyl EP available for pre-order. The first 100 copies sold through the Fueled By Ramen web store will include a signed Daniel Silbert print. Don’t wait, download your copy of the free live EP!

Straight from Boston comes Gentlemen Hall a six-piece band that has suddenly had their song, “Sail Into The Sun“, make waves on global campaigns. After watching the Samsung ad above I could not get this track out of my head. It is so uplifting and a lot of people are already comparing them to Passion Pit, MGMT and Fun.—which is definitely a compliment. But I think these guys will make a name for themselves on their own and they seem to be doing a good job with that so far.

MTV and Billboard have listed them in some of their Best of lists and “Sail Into The Sun” is going to be featured in the next episode (2/26) of Pretty Little Liars. Not too shabby. Have a listen to the track here and for a limited time the band is also letting you download it for free.

I was somewhat disappointed with Volume 4, so I didn’t have such high expectations this time around for Volume 5 even though the lineup and covers looked like a vast improvement. When you think of Pop in 2012, artists such as Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and The Wanted are a must. So to see them all included in this version gave me hope.

Fearless Records Announces Punk Goes Pop 5!

Finally! Fearless Records has announced the details of the fifth installment of the Punk Goes Pop series which is set to be released on November 6th. It was well worth the wait since the lineup of covers seems to be one of the best yet. With covers from The Wanted, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Gotye, Michael Jackson and performed by bands like Breathe Carolina, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Maine, and We Came As Romans.
