At first I wondered, where did this DJ, AronChupa, come from?! But his song reminded me of a track called, “Albatraoz” by a Swedish group also called Albatraoz. So it would only make sense that AronChupa was a part of that Swedish group and now has his own track called “I’m an Albatraoz.” I have to say though, I definitely prefer the AronChupa track. His sister, Nora Ekberg, provides the vocals and it is just addictive. That intro is too awesome and just listening to it makes you feel like a boss or rather an Albatraoz. I can’t wait to see what he releases next. Have a listen above!
SonicAluzion (A-Side) EP

Canadian band, Smashing Satellites just released their debut EP, SonicAluzion (A-Side). and it is all kinds of awesome. I was first impressed with Smashing Satellites after watching their music video for “Hounds“, which I found to be so exciting and fun because of its strangeness. The coolest aspect of Smashing Satellites is that their music transcends genres. While most would categorize them strictly as alternative, there are also hints of pop-rock and electro that really make them stand apart. Not only are their visuals (see the EP cover above and the music video for “Hounds”) creative, but it is also shows in their music.
The EP is a roller coaster of emotions starting off with a bang with “Waterfall” and then goes to a more serious tone with “Taste of Fame” before bringing things back to solid ground with, “Hounds.” Each and every song on the EP is so descriptive and intense. At times the lyrics are angst filled, but yet they still manage to give an overwhelming feeling of empowerment. Smashing Satellites knew what they were doing in order to make a debut EP that would grab the attention of listeners.
Full track listing: “Waterfall”, “Like A Feather”, “Calm Me Down”, “Taste Of Fame” and “Hounds.”
You can download the EP now via iTunes.
Timeflies released the lyric video for their latest single, “All The Way” today. The track is a pure Timeflies pop-dance track. The video features a skateboarder skating non-stop down a neighborhood street. Love these guys. Check out the video above!
We sat down with the guys of Timeflies and they told us about their new EP, Warning Signs plus Cal talks about who he would like to golf with and Rez dishes on how he would react meeting Taylor Swift. Watch it all in the video above!
Their EP, Warning Signs is available now on iTunes. Download here.
“Make A Scene” from NOVI is seriously my song pick for the week. From the moment I first heard it I just couldn’t get enough of it. She’s had a few of her songs featured on prominent shows and it’s really a wonder how the music world hasn’t been buzzing about her yet. Her songs are fun and her lyrics are refreshingly blunt. She will soon release her EP, Now I’m There. Until then check out “Make A Scene” and her other tracks on SoundCloud.
Manhattan native Baker is hitting the electro-pop scene with his upbeat track, “Not Gonna Wait” produced by Young Boyz. Personally, I can’t stop listening to it. To Date “Not Gonna Wait” has garnered over 2 million views on YouTube. He also performed at this year’s SXSW Festival. Give “Not Gonna Wait” a listen and check him out at www.bakermusic.com. He’s currently playing shows in the L.A. area, so catch him while you can.
