The film is based on the memoir, Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, by Jane Hawking, Hawking’s first wife. She is portrayed by Felicity Jones (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2″) in the film. The story revolves around the romance between Hawking and Jane when they met in Cambridge and follows his early years, his prognosis and his accomplishments in academia.
