The Orwellsare such a great find. You might have heard “Who Needs You” on an Apple commercial and wondered who played that catchy song. “The Righteous One” is another track, off of their second album, Disgraceland, that is completely addicting.
They have a nostalgic rock feel to them that bands like The Strokes have tried bringing back and a lead singer that channels Jim Morrison on stage. If you like what you hear, you can catch them at Coachella this year, which means catch them before they blow up.
The Voice Season 3 contestant DE’BORAH recently released her debut single, “Coming Out Looking Good” on iTunes. DE’BORAH signed with Chicago-based label WuLi Records who are also known for releasing the early catalog of American Idol Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze.
“WuLi Records is beyond happy to have DE’BORAH join the WuLi Records roster,” states WuLi Records representative Ryan T. McGuire. “We are eagerly excited to work with such a talented young artist and are looking forward to a positive future together.”
She describes her style of music as eclectic with a vast range of genres including rock, soul and pop mixed with her own unique style. If you saw her on The Voice, you know what that’s all about!
Take a listen to what she came up with post-The Voice with her debut single, “Coming Out Looking Good” here.
Columbia Records announced the signing of Chicago-native sibling duo, Wild Belle. The duo, consisting of Natalie and Elliot do all of their own writing, recording and producing. Wild Belle’s music has a retro, psychedelic-pop feel with hints of jazz, reggae, and R&B. These elements shine in the duo’s new music video for “It’s Too Late” (watch it above). Their forthcoming debut album Isles is due out early next year on Columbia Records.
They will open for Tennis in October, and will tour Europe with Alabama Shakes and Michael Kiwanuka this winter (see below for full US tour dates).
