Not too long ago we posted the music video for “Walk Away” from The Bolts. Since then we have been hearing rave reviews on the OC-band. We usually don’t review EP’s, especially from unsigned bands, but every now and then we make an exception. Their Fall EP consists of four outstanding tracks: “Walk Away”, “The Truth”, “This Can’t Be Real”, and “We May Fall”.
If it must be compared, their sound is similar to that of Muse, Modest Mouse, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, etc. All of whom they cite as influences, but in addition The Bolts add their own uniqueness that cannot be compared. We already designated “Walk Away” as a standout track that just needs to be set on repeat for the masses to hear and revel in. The keys on “The Truth” differentiates this song from the other tracks and really makes it. “This Can’t Be Real” is an energetic-head bouncing tune and is surely a crowd favorite. “We May Fall” has a Billy Idol and Franz Ferdinand “Take Me Out” feel to it and that combination makes for an instantly awesome track. You really can’t go wrong with the Fall EP.
With EP’s you have a limited amount of tracks and with most it is enough. However, with The Bolts Fall EP, you are so involved in the music that when it stops you’re left wondering where the rest of it is because you know there’s more where that came from. They are labeled as “two best friends, three brothers, four lead vocalists, one five-piece band—The Bolts”, but if this EP is any indicator they are much more than that.
The Bolts – Fall EP out on September 15th, 2012. For more information on The Bolts visit their website: www.theboltsmusic.com.
The Bolts are an awesome band. I don’t understand how they all are able to sing and shred on their instruments at the same time. The Fall EP is sick
